A.E.I., Incorporated was created by a father and son team in November of 1989. Tony Augius, a graduate of Loyola University, had been working for Acme Steel Co., in Riverdale, IL, for 23 years, of which 13 years were spent as the Meltshop Superintendent. Paul Augius, a recent graduate of the University of Illinois, had been working for F. Vogelmann and Co., in Frankfort, IL, a heavy steel mill equipment fabricator, for 6 years. Together the team had extensive knowledge and background in the steel making field, and with the identification of some high consumable products, the decision was made to form A.E.I., Incorporated. A.E.I. was incorporated in December of 1989 with both men devoting 100% of their time to the development of the company known today. A.E.I., Inc., now in its twelfth growth year, has developed a renowned reputation based on high quality products delivered on time at competitive prices. A.E.I. maintains contact with roughly 20 steel mills in the Midwest, Southwest and Canada.
